Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.
In October 2023, Ms de Brún and Ms O'Regan successfully applied for an Erasmus+ grant under the KA122 Short Mobility of Learners funding. The grant will be delivered over two years and will allow our students to participate in cultural and educational exchanges with a school in France. Our joint project with Collège Sainte-Anne Le Bouscat in Bordeaux, is entitled “Developing a Culture of Inclusive Exchanges with an EU Neighbour through Digital Correspondence and Immersion in the Target Language.”
The first mobility of students took place in February 2025, when 13 students and 2 teachers from Collège Sainte-Anne visited St Mary’s for one week. The students were hosted by their exchange partners and families in the school. They attended class in the morning and participated in cultural outings in the afternoon, to places such as EPIC, The GPO, The National Museum and the Europa Experience.
We look forward to our return trip to Bordeaux, from the 21st to 28th May, when 13 Transition Year students will spend one week with their exchange partners and attend classes in Collège Sainte-Anne.
