Kindness & Connection Week 2026

Sincere thanks to Ms Flynn, who ran a Kindness & Connection Week from Monday 26th to Friday 30th January. This initiative links closely with our Bí Cineáltas focus, promoting respect, inclusion and positive relationships across our school community.
The week was introduced with a student announcement on Monday morning. On Tuesday, students took part in the Compliment Wall and Kindness Post-box activities. Students were able to contribute to the Compliment Wall in their own time throughout the week, with paper and materials provided so that positive messages could be added whenever it suited them. The Kindness Post-box, located outside the canteen, allowed students to post kind messages for others during the week.
On Thursday, a Buddy Lunch Table was organised to encourage new friendships, alongside Random Acts of Kindness across the school. Tutor groups were asked to take a few minutes to outline the activities and encourage participation, and we really appreciate the support given in reinforcing the message of kindness and connection.

Following the consultation below with parents, students, staff and school stakeholders, please find our Bí Cineálta Anti-Bullying Policy, which is in effect from the 2025/2026 school year, here.
Letter to School Community as part of our Bí Cineálta Policy Development Consultation:
Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,
At St. Mary’s Baldoyle, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members of our school community. As part of the Bi Cineálta Implementation Plan, our Anti-Bullying Policy is currently undergoing a review, and your input is invaluable in ensuring that we have a strong and effective policy in place.
Enclosed, you will find a copy of our existing Anti-Bullying Policy for your review. As we work towards updating this policy, we would greatly appreciate your feedback on the following in the survey linked below.
Please note that we are asking you in the survey linked below to consider the key questions.
- Accessibility: If we had not sent this policy to you, where would you normally look for it?
- Effectiveness: Do you believe the current policy effectively prevents and addresses bullying?
- Improvements: Are there any additional measures, supports, or resources you feel should be included?
As part of our commitment to student wellbeing, we have recently introduced an anonymous reporting mechanism on Microsoft Teams to allow students to report concerns safely and discreetly. This will be incorporated into the revised policy, and we welcome any further suggestions on how to strengthen our approach to tackling bullying.
Additionally, we acknowledge that our current policy is quite detailed, and as part of the Bi Cineálta process, a Student-Friendly Version will be developed by students, for students to ensure accessibility and understanding.
We deeply appreciate your time and effort in supporting this review process. Your feedback will help us continue our mission of creating a school environment where every student feels safe, valued, and respected.
Thank you for your continued support in making St. Mary’s Baldoyle a place where kindness and respect thrive.
